Narrative:
Flying the mccoy 3 (hi) departure out of orlando the copilot accelerated to normal airspeed out of 10000 ft (300 KTS). About 17000 ft ZJX advised us to maintain 270 KTS and asked us if we had been given normal airspeed by the previous controller. We had not and a quick review of the departure plate reminded us that we were to have maintained 250 KTS until advised by center. Cause was failure of both pilots to adequately review the departure plate and failure of the captain to brief it on the taxi check. Supplemental information from acn 311750: I looked at top of SID plate and noticed 250 KTS until ATC approval. We slowed back to 250 KTS.
