Narrative:

Air carrier X flight B dtw-clt. Approach phase of flight in communication with clt approach control. Captain told flight B was #6 for approach to runway 36L. Later told runway 5 to be used due to noise abatement. Controller indicated a switch to runway 5 for noise abatement, inferring that runways 36L/right would be closed. Uneventful approach and landing to runway 5. During landing rollout, in the absence of any rollout instructions by tower, captain exited active runway at runways 36R/18L to cross onto taxiway. Tower controller inquired where air carrier X flight B was located, then instructed to immediately exit off runway 18L due to aircraft landing on runway 36R. Flight B was not informed that approachs were being conducted to other runways. (36L or 36R). Tower controller was confused as to which runway terminology to use ie, runway 18L or runway 36R. Tower informed flight B that an aircraft was on short final to runway 36R and instructed aircraft to go around. ATIS revealed no simultaneous visual approachs to all runways were being conducted. Reference aim paragraph 4-69 and air carrier X flight operations manual section ATC 12.10.3. 'In the absence of ATC instructions, taxi clear of the landing runway even if that requires the aircraft to protrude into or cross another taxiway, runway or ramp area.' in conclusion, perhaps miscom or no communication with regards to exiting runway 5.

Title: RWY TRANSGRESS AFTER LNDG.

Narrative: ACR X FLT B DTW-CLT. APCH PHASE OF FLT IN COM WITH CLT APCH CTL. CAPT TOLD FLT B WAS #6 FOR APCH TO RWY 36L. LATER TOLD RWY 5 TO BE USED DUE TO NOISE ABATEMENT. CTLR INDICATED A SWITCH TO RWY 5 FOR NOISE ABATEMENT, INFERRING THAT RWYS 36L/R WOULD BE CLOSED. UNEVENTFUL APCH AND LNDG TO RWY 5. DURING LNDG ROLLOUT, IN THE ABSENCE OF ANY ROLLOUT INSTRUCTIONS BY TWR, CAPT EXITED ACTIVE RWY AT RWYS 36R/18L TO CROSS ONTO TXWY. TWR CTLR INQUIRED WHERE ACR X FLT B WAS LOCATED, THEN INSTRUCTED TO IMMEDIATELY EXIT OFF RWY 18L DUE TO ACFT LNDG ON RWY 36R. FLT B WAS NOT INFORMED THAT APCHS WERE BEING CONDUCTED TO OTHER RWYS. (36L OR 36R). TWR CTLR WAS CONFUSED AS TO WHICH RWY TERMINOLOGY TO USE IE, RWY 18L OR RWY 36R. TWR INFORMED FLT B THAT AN ACFT WAS ON SHORT FINAL TO RWY 36R AND INSTRUCTED ACFT TO GAR. ATIS REVEALED NO SIMULTANEOUS VISUAL APCHS TO ALL RWYS WERE BEING CONDUCTED. REF AIM PARAGRAPH 4-69 AND ACR X FLT OPS MANUAL SECTION ATC 12.10.3. 'IN THE ABSENCE OF ATC INSTRUCTIONS, TAXI CLR OF THE LNDG RWY EVEN IF THAT REQUIRES THE ACFT TO PROTRUDE INTO OR CROSS ANOTHER TXWY, RWY OR RAMP AREA.' IN CONCLUSION, PERHAPS MISCOM OR NO COM WITH REGARDS TO EXITING RWY 5.
