Narrative:
The captain in question has been using an am radio to receive and play music during flight operations below 10000 ft. While our company has prohibitions against 'non-related materials/conversation' in the 'sterile cockpit' operating areas, the newly upgraded captain insists upon doing things his way in his cockpit. This was not a problem for me personally, until this 'music' could be overheard in the backgnd of recorded ATC radio xmissions. This is clearly a violation of applicable FARS as well as company (121) flight operations directives and manuals. This is not of my choosing or doing and I am 'pwrless' to change it. This captain could use heavy doses of CRM as he is clearly alienating 2/3 of his available flight crew resource. I have requested to change flight crew. Apparently, I have a personal need to operate more closely to 'the book.' there have also been numerous occasions of other 'unannounced policy changes' with which to bear. This event has been the least intelligent 'improvement to company procedure' as it can easily be verified by the ATC radio transmission tapes.

Title: FO OF AN LGT COMPLAINS ABOUT MUSIC PLAYED IN THE COCKPIT DURING TAXI, TKOF AND CLB WHICH CAN BE HEARD OVER ATC RECORDING TAPES AND WHICH IS A VIOLATION OF THE STERILE COCKPIT RULE BELOW 10000 FT.
Narrative: THE CAPT IN QUESTION HAS BEEN USING AN AM RADIO TO RECEIVE AND PLAY MUSIC DURING FLT OPS BELOW 10000 FT. WHILE OUR COMPANY HAS PROHIBITIONS AGAINST 'NON-RELATED MATERIALS/CONVERSATION' IN THE 'STERILE COCKPIT' OPERATING AREAS, THE NEWLY UPGRADED CAPTAIN INSISTS UPON DOING THINGS HIS WAY IN HIS COCKPIT. THIS WAS NOT A PROB FOR ME PERSONALLY, UNTIL THIS 'MUSIC' COULD BE OVERHEARD IN THE BACKGND OF RECORDED ATC RADIO XMISSIONS. THIS IS CLRLY A VIOLATION OF APPLICABLE FARS AS WELL AS COMPANY (121) FLT OPS DIRECTIVES AND MANUALS. THIS IS NOT OF MY CHOOSING OR DOING AND I AM 'PWRLESS' TO CHANGE IT. THIS CAPT COULD USE HVY DOSES OF CRM AS HE IS CLRLY ALIENATING 2/3 OF HIS AVAILABLE FLC RESOURCE. I HAVE REQUESTED TO CHANGE FLC. APPARENTLY, I HAVE A PERSONAL NEED TO OPERATE MORE CLOSELY TO 'THE BOOK.' THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN NUMEROUS OCCASIONS OF OTHER 'UNANNOUNCED POLICY CHANGES' WITH WHICH TO BEAR. THIS EVENT HAS BEEN THE LEAST INTELLIGENT 'IMPROVEMENT TO COMPANY PROC' AS IT CAN EASILY BE VERIFIED BY THE ATC RADIO XMISSION TAPES.
