Narrative:
The aircraft was on the ground at cho, va, in preparation for flight on sep/thu/95. External power was supplied to the aircraft and the power select switch in the aircraft was in 'external power.' I started the #1 engine successfully and turned on the respective main and auxiliary generators. I proceeded with starting the #2 engine and after introducing the fuel, the electrical power to the aircraft seemed to drop off. An aural 'T6' warning was heard and I saw the T6 indication on the #2 engine close to 1000 degrees C. I immediately shut down the engine. After dry motoring the engine and waiting 3 mins, I successfully restarted the engine. The T6 indication was relatively cool and all other engine indications were normal. Due to the short duration of elevated temperatures we proceeded with the flight without further incident and all engine indications remained normal throughout the flight.

Title: FLC OF AN LTT TURBOPROP DISCONTINUED ENG START AFTER OBSERVING A HIGH ENG TEMP.
Narrative: THE ACFT WAS ON THE GND AT CHO, VA, IN PREPARATION FOR FLT ON SEP/THU/95. EXTERNAL PWR WAS SUPPLIED TO THE ACFT AND THE PWR SELECT SWITCH IN THE ACFT WAS IN 'EXTERNAL PWR.' I STARTED THE #1 ENG SUCCESSFULLY AND TURNED ON THE RESPECTIVE MAIN AND AUX GENERATORS. I PROCEEDED WITH STARTING THE #2 ENG AND AFTER INTRODUCING THE FUEL, THE ELECTRICAL PWR TO THE ACFT SEEMED TO DROP OFF. AN AURAL 'T6' WARNING WAS HEARD AND I SAW THE T6 INDICATION ON THE #2 ENG CLOSE TO 1000 DEGS C. I IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN THE ENG. AFTER DRY MOTORING THE ENG AND WAITING 3 MINS, I SUCCESSFULLY RESTARTED THE ENG. THE T6 INDICATION WAS RELATIVELY COOL AND ALL OTHER ENG INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL. DUE TO THE SHORT DURATION OF ELEVATED TEMPS WE PROCEEDED WITH THE FLT WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT AND ALL ENG INDICATIONS REMAINED NORMAL THROUGHOUT THE FLT.
