Narrative:

Aircraft climbing with autoplt engaged. Approaching FL260 altitude capture displayed on FMA. Flew through FL260. Copilot's leg. He recognized the problem, disconnected the autoplt, and hand flew back to FL260. Maximum altitude 26400 ft. Minimum altitude 25700 ft during recovery. Copilot recognized the problem and reacted in a timely and appropriate manner. Good catch. Supplemental information from acn 316394: descended back down to FL257 and eased back up to FL260. Reengaged autoplt and monitored closely the rest of flight. We also got an aural warning of a slat overspd when aircraft was passing FL260 on climb and another one when we leveled off at FL260 in cruise flight. Airspeed both times of warning was .780 mach. No further problems were encountered for rest of flight.
