Narrative:
On approach to cak we were on a 250 degree heading for runway 23 without the airport in sight. We were starting to pick up the ILS (so it seemed) and were looking for the airport. When the controller informed us we were on the wrong heading the airport was at our 3 O'clock. We looked over and saw the field and made a VFR pattern. The controller said we had taken another aircraft's turn. With no VOR/NDB/DME on cak it is really difficult to figure where you are in relation to the field.

Title: CLRNC REPLY TO WRONG CALL SIGN. ACR TURNS TO ANOTHER ACR'S HDG ASSIGNMENT AND BELATEDLY REALIZES THAT THE HDG WILL NOT EVER INTERCEPT THE DESIRED LOC.
