Narrative:
We were on a 30 degree intercept to the ILS runway 9L localizer and we had been cleared for the approach. I got too occupied/focused on running a checklist, that I neglected to call out 'localizer alive.' the captain flew through the localizer and we did not realize what had just happened before the controller said to turn right to a heading of 120 degrees to re-intercept the localizer. We had flown far enough north to be under the atl runway 8L localizer. Moral: intermittent situational awareness is dumb and unsafe.
