Narrative:
Helicopter was inadvertently overflown the turbine engine start count inspection. I also flew the aircraft after the overflying the turbine component start count inspection. On oct/thu/95 the mistake was discovered. The aircraft was immediately grounded until the turbine sections were replaced. There is a system installed to prevent this from occurring. Late reports and miscalculation caused the late identify of the impending violation of the component life inspection. The mishap could have been prevented by closer attention to detail, more frequent reporting of impending inspections by our base maintenance office, and more detail check of maintenance tracking records by the PIC and maintenance personnel. The company maintenance office will track and report component life inspections more frequently to assist maintenance in the field from inadvertently overflying these inspections.
