Narrative:
Deficiency in my radio communication technique. When I switch from one frequency to another frequency I turned off the volume on my initial frequency (#1 communication). I selected the other frequency on the #2 communication, but I forgot to turn the switch between #1 and #2 communication system, so when I called the other center, I was still on the first frequency, and without listening for the answer, so I maybe cut out others' message. Contributing factors were: fatigue and stress, and a relatively new system of communication on this plane for me.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: RADIO COM PROC, PLT GETS THE NEW FREQ TUNED INTO HIS #2 RADIO, BUT DOES NOT SWITCH TO THAT RADIO BEFORE XMITTING. HE DOES NOT HEAR HIS XMISSION ON THE #1 RADIO BECAUSE HE TURNED THE VOLUME CTL DOWN.
