Narrative:
On departure from lax to ord, tower told us to maintain 3000 ft. At 1500 ft tower told us to maintain 2000 ft. Tower said we would have passing traffic at 3000 ft. We saw the traffic pass over us on TCASII. We started an accidental climb out of 2000 ft. Lax departure told us then to climb to 3000 ft maintain 250 KTS.
