Narrative:
At FL410, on an nrp route, ZJX re-routed dtw-mco, amg, cty, pie, mco for traffic and WX. The nrp route was perfect for WX avoidance and ATC instead took them off of that route, down the west coast of florida and into cells topping out at FL430. When contacted, ATC said they'd turn him prior to the cells but, in the event of a loss of radio communication my crew would have been stuck the last clearance provided. Clearly safety was violated!
