Narrative:
Aircraft radios were stolen and was using a hand held radio, also a transponder which was damaged. Was squawking 7600 for radio failure as was unable to call anyone until 50-60 mi from land. Transponder was actually coding 7500 due to damage received (realized later). In violation of far 91 for operating without radios but no way to get new radios in the bahamas.
