Narrative:
Traffic was heavy going into orangeberg for the weekly meeting of the club. Between 50-65 planes arrived within a 1 1/2 hour period. I had turned final about 3.8 mi out and was #4 for runway 05. When I was approximately 1 mi from touchdown a plane went right over the top of me, close enough that I could see the panels on the bottom of the fuselage. The plane was 30-40 ft above me and directly lined up with my track. We were stacked vertically so close that I couldn't see the n-number on the side. I'm sure the other plane never saw me, which is a little surprising in that the aerobatic experimental is painted bright white, with bright red sunburst stripes. Because the kitfox flies at such low speeds, you tend to make flatter, slower approachs. With all the traffic, I wasn't watching the VASI lights closely, but when I did they were red over pink, usually, almost below the glide path. I have to believe the other pilot must have been locked on to the VASI lights and wasn't seeing anything else. They quickly exited the plane as soon as they got parked and I was too scared and too angry to pursue talking to them. Watching for traffic is one thing, but getting run over from behind brings out a whole new perspective.

Title: NMAC AT A NON TWR ARPT CTAF.
Narrative: TFC WAS HVY GOING INTO ORANGEBERG FOR THE WKLY MEETING OF THE CLUB. BTWN 50-65 PLANES ARRIVED WITHIN A 1 1/2 HR PERIOD. I HAD TURNED FINAL ABOUT 3.8 MI OUT AND WAS #4 FOR RWY 05. WHEN I WAS APPROX 1 MI FROM TOUCHDOWN A PLANE WENT RIGHT OVER THE TOP OF ME, CLOSE ENOUGH THAT I COULD SEE THE PANELS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FUSELAGE. THE PLANE WAS 30-40 FT ABOVE ME AND DIRECTLY LINED UP WITH MY TRACK. WE WERE STACKED VERTLY SO CLOSE THAT I COULDN'T SEE THE N-NUMBER ON THE SIDE. I'M SURE THE OTHER PLANE NEVER SAW ME, WHICH IS A LITTLE SURPRISING IN THAT THE AEROBATIC EXPERIMENTAL IS PAINTED BRIGHT WHITE, WITH BRIGHT RED SUNBURST STRIPES. BECAUSE THE KITFOX FLIES AT SUCH LOW SPDS, YOU TEND TO MAKE FLATTER, SLOWER APCHS. WITH ALL THE TFC, I WASN'T WATCHING THE VASI LIGHTS CLOSELY, BUT WHEN I DID THEY WERE RED OVER PINK, USUALLY, ALMOST BELOW THE GLIDE PATH. I HAVE TO BELIEVE THE OTHER PLT MUST HAVE BEEN LOCKED ON TO THE VASI LIGHTS AND WASN'T SEEING ANYTHING ELSE. THEY QUICKLY EXITED THE PLANE AS SOON AS THEY GOT PARKED AND I WAS TOO SCARED AND TOO ANGRY TO PURSUE TALKING TO THEM. WATCHING FOR TFC IS ONE THING, BUT GETTING RUN OVER FROM BEHIND BRINGS OUT A WHOLE NEW PERSPECTIVE.
