Narrative:
After several uneventful xmissions, we were unable to contact ZNY after first attempt to transmit on new frequency which had been received after changeover. We assumed a stuck microphone and began troubleshooting by unplugging captain's microphone, first officer's microphone, both boom mikes and oxygen mask mikes, all to no avail. Communication finally regained by communicating through ACARS to dispatch. When on new frequency, we did not transmit further, and complied with received ATC instructions. Also, by this time, captain had selected communication button #3. After landing, it was determined that the captain's yoke mounted switch had failed. Switch was replaced, flight continued. Time constraints of a fairly short flight precluded a great deal of troubleshooting. As we were soon approaching the terminal area and had inadvertently disrupted ATC enough, we left well enough alone to sort it out further on the ground.

Title: AN ACR MLG CREW WAS ABLE TO CLR THEIR STUCK MIKE AND PROCEED TO DEST.
Narrative: AFTER SEVERAL UNEVENTFUL XMISSIONS, WE WERE UNABLE TO CONTACT ZNY AFTER FIRST ATTEMPT TO XMIT ON NEW FREQ WHICH HAD BEEN RECEIVED AFTER CHANGEOVER. WE ASSUMED A STUCK MIKE AND BEGAN TROUBLESHOOTING BY UNPLUGGING CAPT'S MIKE, FO'S MIKE, BOTH BOOM MIKES AND OXYGEN MASK MIKES, ALL TO NO AVAIL. COM FINALLY REGAINED BY COMMUNICATING THROUGH ACARS TO DISPATCH. WHEN ON NEW FREQ, WE DID NOT XMIT FURTHER, AND COMPLIED WITH RECEIVED ATC INSTRUCTIONS. ALSO, BY THIS TIME, CAPT HAD SELECTED COM BUTTON #3. AFTER LNDG, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CAPT'S YOKE MOUNTED SWITCH HAD FAILED. SWITCH WAS REPLACED, FLT CONTINUED. TIME CONSTRAINTS OF A FAIRLY SHORT FLT PRECLUDED A GREAT DEAL OF TROUBLESHOOTING. AS WE WERE SOON APCHING THE TERMINAL AREA AND HAD INADVERTENTLY DISRUPTED ATC ENOUGH, WE LEFT WELL ENOUGH ALONE TO SORT IT OUT FURTHER ON THE GND.
