Narrative:
During the takeoff roll the aircraft pulled to the right. Application of the left brake was ineffective to correct the right turning tendency. The first officer retarded the power levers, and I took control of the aircraft. My attempts at correction had no effect (using brakes and reverse thrust). The aircraft stopped with the nosewheel and right main gear a few inches off the pavement of runway 23, 150 ft from the takeoff threshold.
