Narrative:

VMC conditions on IFR plan. Departed love field and door on beech V35 popped open. I immediately contacted tower and requested return to runway. Was given 1200 squawk code and followed instructions to return. Cockpit door was secured and subsequent IFR flight plan executed. Corrective action: double check door.

Narrative: VMC CONDITIONS ON IFR PLAN. DEPARTED LOVE FIELD AND DOOR ON BEECH V35 POPPED OPEN. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED TWR AND REQUESTED RETURN TO RWY. WAS GIVEN 1200 SQUAWK CODE AND FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS TO RETURN. COCKPIT DOOR WAS SECURED AND SUBSEQUENT IFR FLT PLAN EXECUTED. CORRECTIVE ACTION: DOUBLE CHK DOOR.
