Narrative:
The purpose of this report is to advise NASA of an error in the commercial chart 10-9 dated sep/15/95 for san juan pr. This airport chart shows txwys east and J transposed from where they actually are as indicated by the signs on the airport surface. I would guess that the error is with the commercial chart, not the placement of the signs. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter flies the B737-300. He talked with sju tower and the tower insisted that the markings on the ground are correct, the commercial chart is wrong. The reporter passed his findings on to his pilot union safety committee which has apparently done nothing yet. The reporter is now aware of the FAA safety hotline. A contact at the commercial preparer of airport charts says that the sep/15/95 10-9 chart shows the 'east' and 'J' txwys in the same position as that shown on the earlier chart. His office will check with sju to see where the problem lies.

Title: AN ACR MLG CREW RPTS THAT THERE MAY BE A DISCREPANCY ON THE COMMERCIALLY SUPPLIED ARPT PAGE FOR SJU.
Narrative: THE PURPOSE OF THIS RPT IS TO ADVISE NASA OF AN ERROR IN THE COMMERCIAL CHART 10-9 DATED SEP/15/95 FOR SAN JUAN PR. THIS ARPT CHART SHOWS TXWYS E AND J TRANSPOSED FROM WHERE THEY ACTUALLY ARE AS INDICATED BY THE SIGNS ON THE ARPT SURFACE. I WOULD GUESS THAT THE ERROR IS WITH THE COMMERCIAL CHART, NOT THE PLACEMENT OF THE SIGNS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR FLIES THE B737-300. HE TALKED WITH SJU TWR AND THE TWR INSISTED THAT THE MARKINGS ON THE GND ARE CORRECT, THE COMMERCIAL CHART IS WRONG. THE RPTR PASSED HIS FINDINGS ON TO HIS PLT UNION SAFETY COMMITTEE WHICH HAS APPARENTLY DONE NOTHING YET. THE RPTR IS NOW AWARE OF THE FAA SAFETY HOTLINE. A CONTACT AT THE COMMERCIAL PREPARER OF ARPT CHARTS SAYS THAT THE SEP/15/95 10-9 CHART SHOWS THE 'E' AND 'J' TXWYS IN THE SAME POS AS THAT SHOWN ON THE EARLIER CHART. HIS OFFICE WILL CHK WITH SJU TO SEE WHERE THE PROB LIES.
