Narrative:
While being radar vectored to runway 09R at miami international airport on a 180 degree heading, communication was temporarily lost with miami approach control. When approaching the localizer the first officer asked approach 'are you still there.' approach control responded by saying he had been trying to call us several times and to turn left to 060 degree heading to intercept the localizer and cleared for the ILS runway 09R approach. The first officer replied 'we never heard you' and completed the approach and landing to runway 09R. No communication was received by myself or the first officer until he called approach control. We do not believe we had a stuck microphone or there was any failure of our equipment.
