Narrative:
This statement is given concerning the operation of a flight from mco to srq. I served as captain and PF of that flight. The ship was a beechcraft 1900D model. The flight proceeded normally until we were (6) DME northeast of srq. As we were slowing to begin our approach to runway 32 in level flight at 3000 ft, the power levers were retarded to approximately 1500 ft pounds of torque. At that time there was a sudden loud bang accompanied by a right yaw, with an instantaneous increase in itt, and complete loss of torque. After identing and verifying the right engine loss, the air crew secured the engine. After stabilizing the situation, the crew declared an emergency and briefed passenger, where an uneventful single engine approach and landing was made.

Title: FLC ON APCH EXPERIENCED AN ENG FAILURE.
Narrative: THIS STATEMENT IS GIVEN CONCERNING THE OP OF A FLT FROM MCO TO SRQ. I SERVED AS CAPT AND PF OF THAT FLT. THE SHIP WAS A BEECHCRAFT 1900D MODEL. THE FLT PROCEEDED NORMALLY UNTIL WE WERE (6) DME NE OF SRQ. AS WE WERE SLOWING TO BEGIN OUR APCH TO RWY 32 IN LEVEL FLT AT 3000 FT, THE PWR LEVERS WERE RETARDED TO APPROX 1500 FT LBS OF TORQUE. AT THAT TIME THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOUD BANG ACCOMPANIED BY A R YAW, WITH AN INSTANTANEOUS INCREASE IN ITT, AND COMPLETE LOSS OF TORQUE. AFTER IDENTING AND VERIFYING THE R ENG LOSS, THE AIR CREW SECURED THE ENG. AFTER STABILIZING THE SIT, THE CREW DECLARED AN EMER AND BRIEFED PAX, WHERE AN UNEVENTFUL SINGLE ENG APCH AND LNDG WAS MADE.
