Narrative:
At about 30 mins from a landing at mco the #2 flight attendant reported that an elderly woman was unconscious and neither her husband nor any other crew member were able to revive her. The flight attendant also reported that the husband was unaware of any medical condition that would cause her unconsciousness. The flight attendant said he would keep me informed and returned to the cabin. Moments later another flight attendant returned to report that the woman was a diabetic and her condition was deteriorating. I contacted dispatch for a phone patch with a doctor, and they advised me they were unable to do it through commercial radio. At that point we determined that mco was the closest suitable airport and advised ATC of our situation. ATC gave us direct mco. To expedite we advised ATC that we would exceed 250 KTS below 10000 ft. ATC approved it. We landed without incident and were met at the gate by emergency medical personnel. The cabin crew performed very professionally and did an outstanding job.
