Narrative:

Aircraft suffered a complete 'B' hydraulic system failure. Problem was handled in accordance with company procedures. However, captain elected to continue to dallas fort worth (approximately 750 mi) versus diverting to denver, 150 mi away. First officer felt a divert to denver was warranted. During initial hydraulic failure autoplt disengaged and aircraft climbed 600 ft above assigned altitude. Aircraft was immediately hand flown back to correct altitude. No loss of separation was reported.

Title: FLC OF AN LGT LOST ONE OF THEIR HYD SYS RESULTING IN AN EXCURSION FROM ASSIGNED ALT WHEN THE AUTOPLT 'KICKED OFF.'

Narrative: ACFT SUFFERED A COMPLETE 'B' HYD SYS FAILURE. PROB WAS HANDLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH COMPANY PROCS. HOWEVER, CAPT ELECTED TO CONTINUE TO DALLAS FORT WORTH (APPROX 750 MI) VERSUS DIVERTING TO DENVER, 150 MI AWAY. FO FELT A DIVERT TO DENVER WAS WARRANTED. DURING INITIAL HYD FAILURE AUTOPLT DISENGAGED AND ACFT CLBED 600 FT ABOVE ASSIGNED ALT. ACFT WAS IMMEDIATELY HAND FLOWN BACK TO CORRECT ALT. NO LOSS OF SEPARATION WAS RPTED.
