Narrative:
Aircraft on macy arrival to atlanta having been cleared to FL240 due to turbulence and slowed to 280 KTS. I (first officer) entered speed into performance management system (pms) then tried a couple of times to select thrust management on autoflt panel. Inadvertently I selected IAS the third time (both are on the captain's side of panel). While checking position (VOR) aircraft started descending slowly, but was noticed and corrective action taken at approximately 23600 ft. Controller avowed no conflict of traffic and no action taken. Trip terminated in atlanta.

Title: L101 FO (PF) INADVERTENTLY DSNDED BELOW ASSIGNED ALT ON STAR. THE FO WAS TRYING TO SELECT AN AUTOFLT FUNCTION IN THE PMS AUTOTHRUST MODE (CAPT'S SIDE OF PANEL), WHICH WOULD NOT ENGAGE. THE IAS MODE WAS SELECTED BY MISTAKE.
Narrative: ACFT ON MACY ARR TO ATLANTA HAVING BEEN CLRED TO FL240 DUE TO TURB AND SLOWED TO 280 KTS. CTLR AVOWED NO CONFLICT OF TFC AND NO ACTION TAKEN. TRIP TERMINATED IN ATLANTA.
