Narrative:
Incorrect taxi route taken by air carrier X after landing on runway 27L at dtw. No conflicts or complications due to the route the captain taxied the aircraft. I (first officer) was the PF, I landed on runway 27L at dtw, and during rollout, exited runway 27L on taxiway t- 5. During exit on taxiway T-5, dtw tower 135.0 instructed us to turn right, taxiway west, hold short of runway 27R and continued issuing further instruction to other aircraft. The instructions given to us (air carrier X) were unclr, or ambiguous at best, since runway 27L/right are used infrequently at dtw. Further review of the airport diagram did not support the controller's directions. Clarification was improbable due to his (controller) heavy workload. Our taxi route worked fine and caused no complications. However, the controller wanted us to take a different route.

Title: CAPT OF AN MLG USED THE WRONG TAXI RTE DURING TAXI IN AFTER LNDG CONTRARY TO THE TWR CTLR INSTRUCTIONS.
Narrative: INCORRECT TAXI RTE TAKEN BY ACR X AFTER LNDG ON RWY 27L AT DTW. NO CONFLICTS OR COMPLICATIONS DUE TO THE RTE THE CAPT TAXIED THE ACFT. I (FO) WAS THE PF, I LANDED ON RWY 27L AT DTW, AND DURING ROLLOUT, EXITED RWY 27L ON TXWY T- 5. DURING EXIT ON TXWY T-5, DTW TWR 135.0 INSTRUCTED US TO TURN R, TXWY W, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 27R AND CONTINUED ISSUING FURTHER INSTRUCTION TO OTHER ACFT. THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN TO US (ACR X) WERE UNCLR, OR AMBIGUOUS AT BEST, SINCE RWY 27L/R ARE USED INFREQUENTLY AT DTW. FURTHER REVIEW OF THE ARPT DIAGRAM DID NOT SUPPORT THE CTLR'S DIRECTIONS. CLARIFICATION WAS IMPROBABLE DUE TO HIS (CTLR) HVY WORKLOAD. OUR TAXI RTE WORKED FINE AND CAUSED NO COMPLICATIONS. HOWEVER, THE CTLR WANTED US TO TAKE A DIFFERENT RTE.
