Narrative:

Aircraft being vectored for arrival/sequencing. Level at 7000 ft. One pilot off frequency to company, other pilot took clearance to 6000 ft intended for other aircraft. No confirmation of cleared altitude (as only one pilot on frequency, no backup). Descent started out of 7000 ft for 6000 ft by PF (not pilot who entered erroneous altitude). Approach called at 6700 ft stating to maintain 7000 ft. Dialogue resolved that other aircraft was given 6000 ft clearance. No terrain aircraft threat imposed.
