Narrative:
Center cleared us for an ILS to akn. WX was reported as 1/2 mi by FSS located on the field. Just outside the OM, FSS called on CTAF and reported a new visibility update. (At this time we were on GS and localizer.) once on the ground, the company flight operations said FSS was calling the WX 1/4 mi visibility. We both heard 1/2 mi reported. Not really sure who said what and when.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FSS PERSONNEL WERE RPTING VISIBILITY AS LESS THAN PRESCRIBED MINIMUMS. A TURBOPROP FLC WHO FLEW THE APCH WAS INFORMED ABOUT THE WX WHEN THEY ARRIVED AT THE COMPANY FLT OPS. THE FLC WAS UNAWARE OF THE CHANGE IN VISIBILITY.
