Narrative:
In cruise, ATC controller gave us a right turn to 'avoid traffic descending through (our) altitude.' as we started the turn we got a TCASII RA to 'descend, descend now.' the traffic was estimated to be about 3 1/2 mi to our left, a visual was confirmed. Just before acquiring the traffic visually the ATC controller said he would need a 'good rate of turn.' it was during this turn that visual separation was confirmed and TCASII resolution was deemed unnecessary. Aircraft was turned back on course without further incident.

Title: AN ACR FLC RESPONDED TO A VECTOR CLRNC WITH A GOOD RATE OF TURN WHEN THE ARTCC RADAR CTLR ADVISED OF TFC DSNDING THROUGH THEIR ALT. THE FLC HAD ACQUIRED THE TFC VISUALLY, AND FOUND IT UNNECESSARY TO FOLLOW THE RA COMMANDS.
