Narrative:
I was repositioning my aircraft from the commuter ramp, at ft lauderdale/hollywood international airport, to FBO for refueling. I was cleared by ground to hold short of runway 27R at taxiway Q. While taxiing I was instructed to expedite my taxiing for inbound B737 that would be taxiing off runway 31/13 onto my taxiway. As I turned onto taxiway Q I started looking for the hold short lines. I was watching a B727 rollout on runway 27R to the end. The runway and taxiway lights were not on yet. I also noticed another plane taxiing into position on runway 27R. I still had not found or seen the hold short line, when I noticed I was on the runway so I continued across and contacted ground and told them where I was. They said they were watching me and instructed me to continue to FBO. I feel very bad about crossing the runway. I had flown 7.2 hours flight time and had been up since XX00 am. I feel that this could have been avoided if the lights had been on. I also believe there is a problem with the painted lines at the airport. The surface of the runways and txwys is light grey. The hold short lines at taxiway Q have been moved, painted black and the yellow over the black. They are hard to see during the daytime and are impossible to see at night without the airport lighting. I hope they are repainted before an accident occurs.

Title: ATX PLT FAILED TO HOLD SHORT AS INSTRUCTED AND CROSSED AN ACTIVE RWY DURING REPOSITIONING FOR FUEL.
Narrative: I WAS REPOSITIONING MY ACFT FROM THE COMMUTER RAMP, AT FT LAUDERDALE/HOLLYWOOD INTL ARPT, TO FBO FOR REFUELING. I WAS CLRED BY GND TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 27R AT TXWY Q. WHILE TAXIING I WAS INSTRUCTED TO EXPEDITE MY TAXIING FOR INBOUND B737 THAT WOULD BE TAXIING OFF RWY 31/13 ONTO MY TXWY. AS I TURNED ONTO TXWY Q I STARTED LOOKING FOR THE HOLD SHORT LINES. I WAS WATCHING A B727 ROLLOUT ON RWY 27R TO THE END. THE RWY AND TXWY LIGHTS WERE NOT ON YET. I ALSO NOTICED ANOTHER PLANE TAXIING INTO POS ON RWY 27R. I STILL HAD NOT FOUND OR SEEN THE HOLD SHORT LINE, WHEN I NOTICED I WAS ON THE RWY SO I CONTINUED ACROSS AND CONTACTED GND AND TOLD THEM WHERE I WAS. THEY SAID THEY WERE WATCHING ME AND INSTRUCTED ME TO CONTINUE TO FBO. I FEEL VERY BAD ABOUT XING THE RWY. I HAD FLOWN 7.2 HRS FLT TIME AND HAD BEEN UP SINCE XX00 AM. I FEEL THAT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THE LIGHTS HAD BEEN ON. I ALSO BELIEVE THERE IS A PROB WITH THE PAINTED LINES AT THE ARPT. THE SURFACE OF THE RWYS AND TXWYS IS LIGHT GREY. THE HOLD SHORT LINES AT TXWY Q HAVE BEEN MOVED, PAINTED BLACK AND THE YELLOW OVER THE BLACK. THEY ARE HARD TO SEE DURING THE DAYTIME AND ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE AT NIGHT WITHOUT THE ARPT LIGHTING. I HOPE THEY ARE REPAINTED BEFORE AN ACCIDENT OCCURS.
