Narrative:
Aircraft #1 was at FL290 with traffic of aircraft #2 at FL310. Aircraft #3 was nearby at FL330. I saw the data block of aircraft #3 and climbed aircraft #1 to FL310. I saw aircraft #1 at FL296 and descended him back to FL290 but separation was lost.

Title: ARTCC CTLR CONFUSED DATA BLOCKS AND ISSUED A CLB TO AN ACR ACFT TO AN OCCUPIED ALT. AFTER COMMENCING THE CLB, THE CTLR REALIZED THE MISTAKE AND DSNDED THE ACFT TO THE ORIGINAL ALT, HOWEVER, SEPARATION HAD ALREADY BEEN LOST.
Narrative: ACFT #1 WAS AT FL290 WITH TFC OF ACFT #2 AT FL310. ACFT #3 WAS NEARBY AT FL330. I SAW THE DATA BLOCK OF ACFT #3 AND CLBED ACFT #1 TO FL310. I SAW ACFT #1 AT FL296 AND DSNDED HIM BACK TO FL290 BUT SEPARATION WAS LOST.
