Narrative:

After a xbleed start of the left engine, we continued on taxiway M to runway 27L. I felt a rhythmic thumping that somewhat reminded me of a flat tire. The captain and I decided that it was not like any flat tire sound we had heard before. Anyway the sound went away in a few seconds. Throughout the turn onto and the takeoff roll from runway 27L I neither heard nor felt any other unusual sounds. The captain and I discussed a possible reason for this noise in-flight and decided it was just another one of those things. However, we would be aware of anything different at landing. There wasn't anything. Not until we were about to pull into the gate at sna and ground control said a cessna pilot was reporting we had only one nosewheel tire, did we have any indication anything at all had happened. I do not feel that we did anything wrong given what we knew, or didn't know at the time. The B757 is a very well built airplane and everything worked just fine with one nosewheel, just like it should have.
