Narrative:
On a scheduled flight from den to jackson hole, wy, preferred runway is listed in our manual as runway 18. Upon arrival in the airport area (30 mi) we were informed that runway 36 was in use. We had been cleared for a visual approach by ATC and were speaking with unicom/advisories. The captain told me to make a right turn into the airport, at which time I brought it to his attention that turns in the pattern needed to be to the left (far 91.126), at which time he informed me that he would take 'responsibility' for using the right traffic. I believe this situation could be prevented if in the briefing sheet for the airport it would annotate that all turns in the pattern should be to the left. We do not operate into many uncontrolled airports and due to the captain's military backgnd -- with limited civilian, uncontrolled airport exposure -- as with many of the airline's pilots, I think it would be appropriate that it be noted in the ATC section of our flight operations manual, that this fairly recent far be included. I am forwarding these recommendations to the company, and will put a copy of the far 91.126/127 in the captain's mailbox for his review.

Title: AN ACR FLC MAKING A VISUAL APCH INTO AN UNCTLED ARPT MAKES A R TURN IN THE PATTERN EVEN THOUGH THE FO INFORMS THE CAPT THAT THE STANDARD PATTERN IS A L TURN.
Narrative: ON A SCHEDULED FLT FROM DEN TO JACKSON HOLE, WY, PREFERRED RWY IS LISTED IN OUR MANUAL AS RWY 18. UPON ARR IN THE ARPT AREA (30 MI) WE WERE INFORMED THAT RWY 36 WAS IN USE. WE HAD BEEN CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH BY ATC AND WERE SPEAKING WITH UNICOM/ADVISORIES. THE CAPT TOLD ME TO MAKE A R TURN INTO THE ARPT, AT WHICH TIME I BROUGHT IT TO HIS ATTN THAT TURNS IN THE PATTERN NEEDED TO BE TO THE L (FAR 91.126), AT WHICH TIME HE INFORMED ME THAT HE WOULD TAKE 'RESPONSIBILITY' FOR USING THE R TFC. I BELIEVE THIS SIT COULD BE PREVENTED IF IN THE BRIEFING SHEET FOR THE ARPT IT WOULD ANNOTATE THAT ALL TURNS IN THE PATTERN SHOULD BE TO THE L. WE DO NOT OPERATE INTO MANY UNCTLED ARPTS AND DUE TO THE CAPT'S MIL BACKGND -- WITH LIMITED CIVILIAN, UNCTLED ARPT EXPOSURE -- AS WITH MANY OF THE AIRLINE'S PLTS, I THINK IT WOULD BE APPROPRIATE THAT IT BE NOTED IN THE ATC SECTION OF OUR FLT OPS MANUAL, THAT THIS FAIRLY RECENT FAR BE INCLUDED. I AM FORWARDING THESE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE COMPANY, AND WILL PUT A COPY OF THE FAR 91.126/127 IN THE CAPT'S MAILBOX FOR HIS REVIEW.
