Narrative:
Aircraft grounded by FAA due to cracks in ice shield and minor chaffing of flaps. Being that ice shields are not structural and chaffing damage to flaps is in non structural area, I feel the FAA investigation to be unwarranted.

Title: FAA INSPECTOR GNDED AN ATX SMT DURING PREFLT INSPECTION DUE TO A CRACKED DEICE SHIELD CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE WING TRAILING EDGE FLAP.
Narrative: ACFT GNDED BY FAA DUE TO CRACKS IN ICE SHIELD AND MINOR CHAFFING OF FLAPS. BEING THAT ICE SHIELDS ARE NOT STRUCTURAL AND CHAFFING DAMAGE TO FLAPS IS IN NON STRUCTURAL AREA, I FEEL THE FAA INVESTIGATION TO BE UNWARRANTED.
