Narrative:
Cessna 172 was undergoing an FAA conformity inspection. The inspectors wrote up many discrepancies involving the aircraft's paperwork. These included a transponder and encoder installed without proper paperwork. An rst 504 audio panel and narco mk 12D navigation communication with an FAA form 337 that the inspectors felt was incomplete. A brackett air filter and dorne and margolin ELT that were installed without a form 337. Numerous smaller items were also written up. These included missing placards, one loose wire tie under the instrument panel and several incomplete logbook entries. None of the noted items were intentional falsifications. The aircraft is mechanically safe and very well maintained. All items are being corrected as soon as possible. I think more time needs to be spent in a&P training in proper record keeping.
