Narrative:

The sav ATCT manager, area supervisors, and local union rep have agreed for the next 3 weeks to allow aircraft at 8000 ft and 7000 ft to fly at the wrong altitude for direction of flight without coordination. This will happen during our heaviest traffic volume time of yr and is laying the gndwork for a serious accident. As controllers we are taught from day 1 and told to advise pilots to fly at an appropriate altitude for their direction of flight. To lose this built-in safety feature is very dangerous. 'Wrong for direction' should only be approved on an as needed basis and on an individual situation.
