Narrative:
Flight was cleared from cruising altitude of FL270 to cross jokur intersection of FL240 in accordance with published arrival. New hire first officer was flying. A new hire flight attendant was riding the jump seat as part of the company's flight attendant training program. A contributing factor was the short flight time at cruise where the captain could complete the training and then devote more time to descent planning. The first officer had planned the descent to start 10 NM from jokur which would have been dag station passage which also required a course change. At station passage PF turned, but forgot to descend, realizing the mistake too late to make the crossing restr. ATC apparently did not see any conflicts and asked us to continue our descent to FL230. Supplemental information from acn 332439: I was briefing the new hire flight attendant on different events and procedures that we have, when center told us to descend to FL230. At that time I realized we had missed our crossing restr.

Title: AN ACR PF FAILED TO INITIATE A DSCNT TO COMPLY WITH A XING RESTR. THE PNF RPTS THAT HE RECOGNIZED THE MISTAKE WHEN THE CTLR, AGAIN, CLRED THE FLC TO DSND TO THE LOWER ALT. THE PNF WAS GIVING INITIAL OPERATING EXPERIENCE TO A FLT ATTENDANT WHO WAS RIDING ON THE JUMPSEAT WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED.
Narrative: FLT WAS CLRED FROM CRUISING ALT OF FL270 TO CROSS JOKUR INTXN OF FL240 IN ACCORDANCE WITH PUBLISHED ARR. NEW HIRE FO WAS FLYING. A NEW HIRE FLT ATTENDANT WAS RIDING THE JUMP SEAT AS PART OF THE COMPANY'S FLT ATTENDANT TRAINING PROGRAM. A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS THE SHORT FLT TIME AT CRUISE WHERE THE CAPT COULD COMPLETE THE TRAINING AND THEN DEVOTE MORE TIME TO DSCNT PLANNING. THE FO HAD PLANNED THE DSCNT TO START 10 NM FROM JOKUR WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN DAG STATION PASSAGE WHICH ALSO REQUIRED A COURSE CHANGE. AT STATION PASSAGE PF TURNED, BUT FORGOT TO DSND, REALIZING THE MISTAKE TOO LATE TO MAKE THE XING RESTR. ATC APPARENTLY DID NOT SEE ANY CONFLICTS AND ASKED US TO CONTINUE OUR DSCNT TO FL230. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 332439: I WAS BRIEFING THE NEW HIRE FLT ATTENDANT ON DIFFERENT EVENTS AND PROCS THAT WE HAVE, WHEN CTR TOLD US TO DSND TO FL230. AT THAT TIME I REALIZED WE HAD MISSED OUR XING RESTR.
