Narrative:

After pushing back, a bolt on bracket for towbar broke, so I taxied back to gate and shut down. Mechanic removed bracket and I then attempted to taxi away from the jetway. The ground people gave the signal to stop, but by the time I saw it (I was also clearing to right and straight) I applied brakes and the left wingtip came into contact with the canvas part of the jetway. Ground crew rotated cabin attendant of jetway further and we taxied out. Mechanic inspected leading edge of wing and signed off the small dent. We proceeded to chicago without further incident. In retrospect, I should have had marshallers in front of aircraft and at the left wing instead of all of them at the left wingtip. I was making a right turn out and couldn't direct all of my attention to the left wingtip.

Title: WHILE IN THE PROCESS OF PUSHBACK FROM THE GATE, THE TOWBAR ON A TUG FAILED AND THE CAPT TAXIED BACK TO HAVE THE REMAINING BRACKET REMOVED. WHEN HE THEN ATTEMPTED TO TAXI AWAY FROM THE GATE, THE ACFT WING STRUCK THE JETWAY DURING THE TURN, BEFORE THE GND CREW COULD GET THE FLC TO STOP THE ACFT.

Narrative: AFTER PUSHING BACK, A BOLT ON BRACKET FOR TOWBAR BROKE, SO I TAXIED BACK TO GATE AND SHUT DOWN. MECH REMOVED BRACKET AND I THEN ATTEMPTED TO TAXI AWAY FROM THE JETWAY. THE GND PEOPLE GAVE THE SIGNAL TO STOP, BUT BY THE TIME I SAW IT (I WAS ALSO CLRING TO R AND STRAIGHT) I APPLIED BRAKES AND THE L WINGTIP CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE CANVAS PART OF THE JETWAY. GND CREW ROTATED CAB OF JETWAY FURTHER AND WE TAXIED OUT. MECH INSPECTED LEADING EDGE OF WING AND SIGNED OFF THE SMALL DENT. WE PROCEEDED TO CHICAGO WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. IN RETROSPECT, I SHOULD HAVE HAD MARSHALLERS IN FRONT OF ACFT AND AT THE L WING INSTEAD OF ALL OF THEM AT THE L WINGTIP. I WAS MAKING A R TURN OUT AND COULDN'T DIRECT ALL OF MY ATTN TO THE L WINGTIP.
