Narrative:
Holding short of runway 22R at ewr. We had been holding short for about 15 mins, our call was company afob. Another company flight, agob, was landing on runway 22L. An ATR42 was cleared for departure in front of us. After the ATR42 was airborne, company agob was cleared for landing. When I heard 'ag' I let my aircraft roll forward anticipating my call sign for departure. When I realized the call sign was 'ag' and not 'af' I stopped the aircraft, but the nose was about 10-15 ft past hold short line. I notified tower I was past hold short. They instructed another commuter to go around (who was about 1 mi out). Tower then cleared us into position and then for takeoff. Aircraft did not get close to runway in use, but nose was across hold short line. Main gear was still short of hold short line.

AN ATR42 WAS CLRED FOR DEP IN FRONT OF US. AFTER THE ATR42 WAS AIRBORNE, COMPANY AGOB WAS CLRED FOR LNDG. WHEN I HEARD 'AG' I LET MY ACFT ROLL FORWARD ANTICIPATING MY CALL SIGN FOR DEP. WHEN I REALIZED THE CALL SIGN WAS 'AG' AND NOT 'AF' I STOPPED THE ACFT, BUT THE NOSE WAS ABOUT 10-15 FT PAST HOLD SHORT LINE. I NOTIFIED TWR I WAS PAST HOLD SHORT. THEY INSTRUCTED ANOTHER COMMUTER TO GAR (WHO WAS ABOUT 1 MI OUT). TWR THEN CLRED US INTO POS AND THEN FOR TKOF. ACFT DID NOT GET CLOSE TO RWY IN USE, BUT NOSE WAS ACROSS HOLD SHORT LINE.
