Narrative:
On det tower frequency 121.3 there is interference in the area of 8 mi road, van dyke, 7 mi road, hoover rd. At times this interference can block out the tower. I've heard complaints by other aircraft. Nothing has been done about it. It may be a leak in the cable company's wires. It sounds like a tv raster. The FCC says they can't find the interference, so the FAA and the FCC aren't doing anything about it. This is a hazard to flying safety, especially during marginal WX. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states this situation has existed for over a yr and neither FCC nor FAA has acted any further. Analyst suggested the FAA hotline be used. He indicated other pilots have had problems as well so this is not an isolated incident and needs to have some action.

Narrative: ON DET TWR FREQ 121.3 THERE IS INTERFERENCE IN THE AREA OF 8 MI ROAD, VAN DYKE, 7 MI ROAD, HOOVER RD. AT TIMES THIS INTERFERENCE CAN BLOCK OUT THE TWR. I'VE HEARD COMPLAINTS BY OTHER ACFT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THIS SIT HAS EXISTED FOR OVER A YR AND NEITHER FCC NOR FAA HAS ACTED ANY FURTHER. ANALYST SUGGESTED THE FAA HOTLINE BE USED. HE INDICATED OTHER PLTS HAVE HAD PROBS AS WELL SO THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND NEEDS TO HAVE SOME ACTION.
