Narrative:
I was en route from pao to O56, intending to fly up us highway 101 at 1500 ft. This is a common route, which I have flown frequently. I usually take off from pao, telling the tower my intention. Then I switch to san carlos tower, who then usually hands me to sfo tower who provides clearance. This time, however, san carlos didn't hand me over, and I was in the TCA before I realized the error. I immediately contacted sfo tower and advised them of my position. After transiting the area, I spoke to a supervisor at sfo tower and explained what happened. I asked how I might avoid this in the future, since the airports (pao and san carlos) are so close to the B airspace, and the controllers are always busy. It's not easy to get your request in, in the short time and distance available. The tower supervisor suggested that I contact sfo tower while over or abeam san carlos, instead of waiting for a handoff. I will do so in the future, and I expect this will prevent any more incursions into the air traffic area.

Title: PVT PLT OF AN SMA SEL INADVERTENTLY ENTERED CLASS B AIRSPACE DUE TO WAITING FOR A TWR HDOF TO APCH CTLR.
Narrative: I WAS ENRTE FROM PAO TO O56, INTENDING TO FLY UP US HWY 101 AT 1500 FT. THIS IS A COMMON RTE, WHICH I HAVE FLOWN FREQUENTLY. I USUALLY TAKE OFF FROM PAO, TELLING THE TWR MY INTENTION. THEN I SWITCH TO SAN CARLOS TWR, WHO THEN USUALLY HANDS ME TO SFO TWR WHO PROVIDES CLRNC. THIS TIME, HOWEVER, SAN CARLOS DIDN'T HAND ME OVER, AND I WAS IN THE TCA BEFORE I REALIZED THE ERROR. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED SFO TWR AND ADVISED THEM OF MY POS. AFTER TRANSITING THE AREA, I SPOKE TO A SUPVR AT SFO TWR AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED. I ASKED HOW I MIGHT AVOID THIS IN THE FUTURE, SINCE THE ARPTS (PAO AND SAN CARLOS) ARE SO CLOSE TO THE B AIRSPACE, AND THE CTLRS ARE ALWAYS BUSY. IT'S NOT EASY TO GET YOUR REQUEST IN, IN THE SHORT TIME AND DISTANCE AVAILABLE. THE TWR SUPVR SUGGESTED THAT I CONTACT SFO TWR WHILE OVER OR ABEAM SAN CARLOS, INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR A HDOF. I WILL DO SO IN THE FUTURE, AND I EXPECT THIS WILL PREVENT ANY MORE INCURSIONS INTO THE ATA.
