Narrative:

While approaching foe for the ILS runway 31 the plane intercepted above the GS. The autoplt captured and started nose down trim to intercept. At approximately 500 ft AGL, still above the GS, I disengaged the autoplt and the aircraft nosed down abruptly. Recovery was initiated immediately but the plane descended below the GS. I estimate the lowest descent was 200-300 ft AGL. The airport was straight ahead. A missed approach was made and we proceeded to kansas city downtown airport. This was caused by attempting to intercept the GS from above.

Title: THE FLC ATTEMPTED TO INTERCEPT THE ILS GS FROM ABOVE. THE ACFT RODE HIGH ON THE GS. AT 500 FT THE RPTR DISENGAGED THE AUTOPLT. THE ACFT WAS PREVIOUSLY TRIMMED NOSE DOWN BY THE AUTOPLT SO THE ACFT WENT BELOW THE GS TO WITHIN 200 FT OF THE GND.

Narrative: WHILE APCHING FOE FOR THE ILS RWY 31 THE PLANE INTERCEPTED ABOVE THE GS. THE AUTOPLT CAPTURED AND STARTED NOSE DOWN TRIM TO INTERCEPT. AT APPROX 500 FT AGL, STILL ABOVE THE GS, I DISENGAGED THE AUTOPLT AND THE ACFT NOSED DOWN ABRUPTLY. RECOVERY WAS INITIATED IMMEDIATELY BUT THE PLANE DSNDED BELOW THE GS. I ESTIMATE THE LOWEST DSCNT WAS 200-300 FT AGL. THE ARPT WAS STRAIGHT AHEAD. A MISSED APCH WAS MADE AND WE PROCEEDED TO KANSAS CITY DOWNTOWN ARPT. THIS WAS CAUSED BY ATTEMPTING TO INTERCEPT THE GS FROM ABOVE.
