Narrative:

Air carrier X flight inbound to sdf was descending to 11000 ft. Air carrier Y flight departed eastbound and I climbed the flight to 14000 ft. Air carrier Y then turned over 45 degrees left. This put him head-on with the air carrier X inbound. I turned air carrier Y to a 270 degree heading (he was on an approximately heading of 210 degrees at the time) when the aircraft passed their closest point was about 3 1/2 mi and same altitude. Conflict alert and aedp never activated. The air carrier Y pilot advised me he had been cleared by sdf approach to deviate. This information was not passed on to me. I did inform my supervisor at the time of the event.
