Narrative:
I was on an IFR flight from waco municipal to denton municipal (dto). Descending down under the dfw class B airspace, I was under control of ftw regional approach control (118.1). WX was hazy and cumulus buildups in vicinity. Good marginal conditions. As my r-hand fuel tank began to run dry, I changed over to my full left tank. I did not turn on fuel pump first. The engine quit (totally) and I began to lose altitude. I informed regional approach that I had a power loss. He directed me to turn right and land at ftw. As I was complying with these instructions, I reset my fuel selector to left tank and integrated my low level fuel pump. In about 30 seconds my engine restarted and regained full power. I informed regional approach of this and said I was continuing on to denton. Approach strongly suggested that I land at meacham and check out the aircraft. He told me to go to meacham tower 118.3. I did so. By this time I was already on a high, short final for runway 16L. I told the tower of my position and he cleared me to land runway 16L. I did, without having to use any power (runway 34R was currently in use). Tower had called crash truck out. I landed without incident and had power. On the ramp I filled out and signed required forms from airport auths. I checked my aircraft, start fuel pressure, manifold pressure, magnetos, full power runup and then departed VFR to denton. I landed at my home base at denton without further incident. Upon refueling, my r- hand tank was empty.

Title: CORP SMA PLT RUNS FUEL TANK DRY, ON SWITCHING TANKS FAILS TO ACTIVATE FUEL BOOST PUMP. ENG QUITS. ACCOMPLISHES RESTART BUT MAKES PRECAUTIONARY LNDG.
Narrative: I WAS ON AN IFR FLT FROM WACO MUNICIPAL TO DENTON MUNICIPAL (DTO). DSNDING DOWN UNDER THE DFW CLASS B AIRSPACE, I WAS UNDER CTL OF FTW REGIONAL APCH CTL (118.1). WX WAS HAZY AND CUMULUS BUILDUPS IN VICINITY. GOOD MARGINAL CONDITIONS. AS MY R-HAND FUEL TANK BEGAN TO RUN DRY, I CHANGED OVER TO MY FULL L TANK. I DID NOT TURN ON FUEL PUMP FIRST. THE ENG QUIT (TOTALLY) AND I BEGAN TO LOSE ALT. I INFORMED REGIONAL APCH THAT I HAD A PWR LOSS. HE DIRECTED ME TO TURN R AND LAND AT FTW. AS I WAS COMPLYING WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS, I RESET MY FUEL SELECTOR TO L TANK AND INTEGRATED MY LOW LEVEL FUEL PUMP. IN ABOUT 30 SECONDS MY ENG RESTARTED AND REGAINED FULL PWR. I INFORMED REGIONAL APCH OF THIS AND SAID I WAS CONTINUING ON TO DENTON. APCH STRONGLY SUGGESTED THAT I LAND AT MEACHAM AND CHK OUT THE ACFT. HE TOLD ME TO GO TO MEACHAM TWR 118.3. I DID SO. BY THIS TIME I WAS ALREADY ON A HIGH, SHORT FINAL FOR RWY 16L. I TOLD THE TWR OF MY POS AND HE CLRED ME TO LAND RWY 16L. I DID, WITHOUT HAVING TO USE ANY PWR (RWY 34R WAS CURRENTLY IN USE). TWR HAD CALLED CRASH TRUCK OUT. I LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT AND HAD PWR. ON THE RAMP I FILLED OUT AND SIGNED REQUIRED FORMS FROM ARPT AUTHS. I CHKED MY ACFT, START FUEL PRESSURE, MANIFOLD PRESSURE, MAGNETOS, FULL PWR RUNUP AND THEN DEPARTED VFR TO DENTON. I LANDED AT MY HOME BASE AT DENTON WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. UPON REFUELING, MY R- HAND TANK WAS EMPTY.
