Narrative:
Oil quantity in engine #3 dropped to below normal. Initially requested clearance back to departure airport. After fuel computations, determined destination was safer choice. Oil quantity dropped to zero, 30 mins before top of descent. Temperature and pressure remained normal. Made normal approach and landing following company procedures. Supplemental information from acn 337229: the crew did not declare an emergency, although ZOA did assign them emergency status. The engine was not shut down.

Title: AN ACR DC10-10 LOST OIL IN ITS #3 ENG. AFTER SOME INDECISION, IT FLEW ON TO ITS DEST.
Narrative: OIL QUANTITY IN ENG #3 DROPPED TO BELOW NORMAL. INITIALLY REQUESTED CLRNC BACK TO DEP ARPT. AFTER FUEL COMPUTATIONS, DETERMINED DEST WAS SAFER CHOICE. OIL QUANTITY DROPPED TO ZERO, 30 MINS BEFORE TOP OF DSCNT. TEMP AND PRESSURE REMAINED NORMAL. MADE NORMAL APCH AND LNDG FOLLOWING COMPANY PROCS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 337229: THE CREW DID NOT DECLARE AN EMER, ALTHOUGH ZOA DID ASSIGN THEM EMER STATUS. THE ENG WAS NOT SHUT DOWN.
