Narrative:

Entire flight crew became distraction observing a new structure on the ground while descending. Inadvertently descended below assigned altitude of 5000 ft. Stopped descent at 4400 ft and immediately climbed back to 5000 ft. This type of incident can only be prevented by PIC ensuring that all crew members maintain altitude and situational awareness at all times. Supplemental information from acn 337860: controller said nothing about it. No other aircraft seen visually or on TCASII. Autoplt was not being used.

Title: DURING DSCNT INTO DFW, AN ENTIRE FLC TURNED THEIR ATTN OUTSIDE TO A NEW STRUCTURE ON THE GND, AND DSNDED BELOW THE ASSIGNED ALT. THE CAPT CITES HIS FAILURE TO ENSURE THAT ALL CREW MEMBERS MAINTAIN ALT AND SITUATIONAL AWARENESS.
