Narrative:

An ARTS update almost a year ago changed a north radar departure aircraft to a south radar cps. This is distracting because the aircraft is on south radar cps but north radar frequency. Several ARTS updates have been done both in-house and at ZTL, but the problem remains. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated the problem has been fixed and that it was in the software program which directed the information to the wrong position.
