Narrative:
Location: new york jfk 263/36. On arrival to lga, we misread the approach chart believing while flying the mip 4 into lga, we misread the approach chart to show the STAR defined by the ard 083 degree radial to intercept the lga 225 degree radial. What it is is actually the jfk 083 degree radial to intercept the lga 225 degree radial. I believe that our confusion was caused by the cluttered nature of the approach chart and the time compression of flying a complex approach STAR. ATC corrected us and gave us a vector.
