Narrative:
Chart 10-7 for atl, GA, airport (mar/95) states ramp X uncontrolled, pwrback clearance not required. Upon completion of pwrback, ramp control contacted us through ground. Later discovered ramp X was a controled taxi area. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that this is a company chart and has just been changed. There was a NOTAM given. Flight crew missed it. Ramp controller said there was no problem. Captain said he was going to file a report and first officer should as well. Being on probation there was no argument. Aircraft was a DC9.
