Narrative:
The frequency of reoccurring equipment outages are at an all-time high at this facility. For example our drop tube, which is based on gravity, is constantly jamming up. Jun/thu/96, we logged 23 stoppages in a 14 hour period. I personally have filed 2 ucr's on the dangerously distracting situation. Our af manager has ignored our request all day to clean it out. This situation will one day cause an error. Union has expressed its concern but the words are falling on deaf ears at this point. For the database: we (ATC) desperately need a new system. There are several towers with similar problems that our technicians are unable or unwilling to solve. Thank you for your time and for the program you provide to ATC.
