Narrative:
On a downwind, then base for runway 08 at iah, we lost contact with approach control while on base leg with parallel approachs being conducted to runway 09. Saw air carrier B737 for runway 08 ahead of us cleared for visual to runway 08. Also saw turboprop on final for runway 09, but PNF inadvertently lost the working approach control frequency while we were 90 degrees to both runways' final approach courses. I maintained VFR and requested concurrence to turn toward runway 08, also requested he contact tower and advise them what we were doing (and to also avoid a thunderstorm south of the final approach courses). After some confusion trying to find a non-published approach control frequency, we were cleared for the visual. Suggest the 2 primary approach and departure control frequencys be published on the STAR page. No evasive action needed or taken. Landing uneventful. No contact from ATC facility to indicate any problems.

Title: ON BASE LEG WITH PARALLEL APCHS IN PROGRESS FLC LOST CONTACT WITH APCH CTL. THE FLC REMAINED VMC AND CONTINUED APCH UNTIL REGAINING COMS. THE FLC WAS THEN CLRED FOR THE VISUAL APCH. THE RPTR SUGGESTS THERE BE ARR FREQS ON THE ARR CHART LIKE ARE SHOWN ON THE DEP CHART.
