Narrative:
Taxiing from ramp area to our assigned spot, we contacted ground control and were given taxi instructions to taxi via taxiway M to cross runway 18L, to taxi to runway 23 (which I have never done in 6 yrs of flying out of charlotte). We thought, and I believe that the ATIS said departures were on runway 18L, and ramp told us to expect runway 18L. After receiving our new runway assignment I asked the captain if she wanted me to look up an assumed temperature for runway 23, and she said ok. About that time the captain inadvertently made a right turn onto taxiway right and then crossed runway 23. About that time ground told us we were going the wrong way and reissued taxi instructions to make a left turn onto taxiway C, cross runway 23, then make a right onto taxiway M, and continue to runway 23. I do not believe there were any conflicts with any other traffic.

Title: AFTER RECEIVING A DIFFERENT RWY ASSIGNMENT THAN EXPECTED, A B737 FLC INADVERTENTLY TAXIED ACROSS THE RWY THAT THEY HAD BEEN ASSIGNED FOR TKOF. FLC DISTR TASK CONTRIBUTED. THE GND CTLR INTERVENED AND ISSUED ANOTHER CLRNC.
Narrative: TAXIING FROM RAMP AREA TO OUR ASSIGNED SPOT, WE CONTACTED GND CTL AND WERE GIVEN TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO TAXI VIA TXWY M TO CROSS RWY 18L, TO TAXI TO RWY 23 (WHICH I HAVE NEVER DONE IN 6 YRS OF FLYING OUT OF CHARLOTTE). WE THOUGHT, AND I BELIEVE THAT THE ATIS SAID DEPS WERE ON RWY 18L, AND RAMP TOLD US TO EXPECT RWY 18L. AFTER RECEIVING OUR NEW RWY ASSIGNMENT I ASKED THE CAPT IF SHE WANTED ME TO LOOK UP AN ASSUMED TEMP FOR RWY 23, AND SHE SAID OK. ABOUT THAT TIME THE CAPT INADVERTENTLY MADE A R TURN ONTO TXWY R AND THEN CROSSED RWY 23. ABOUT THAT TIME GND TOLD US WE WERE GOING THE WRONG WAY AND REISSUED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE A L TURN ONTO TXWY C, CROSS RWY 23, THEN MAKE A R ONTO TXWY M, AND CONTINUE TO RWY 23. I DO NOT BELIEVE THERE WERE ANY CONFLICTS WITH ANY OTHER TFC.
