Narrative:
While on a flight from mvy, I flew over UUU and proceeded direct to gon. I didn't talk to an FSS briefer, so I was ignorant of the flight restr within 5 NM of oqu up to 10000 ft due to an air show taking place. I found out about this by tuning into pvd's ATIS, which contained a message about the restr. By this time I was past the airport. My flight planned path took me almost exactly 5 NM away from oqu, however, if I'd deviated from my course, I could easily have been within the restr area. Due to dealings with other people on the ground, and a late departure, I was not thorough enough with my flight planning. I must take the time to get a full briefing including all relevant NOTAMS. My experience brought to my full attention the need to talk with a briefer before each and every cross country flight.

Title: RPTR PVT PLT FLEW INTO ARPT TFC AREA WHICH HAD A LCL RESTR, DUE TO AN AIR SHOW, OF 10000 FT AND 5 MI. RPTR SAYS HE FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RESTR FROM PVD'S ATIS. RPTR DOES MENTION THAT HE WAS IN COM WITH OQU TWR, SO THEY MUST HAVE ALSO TOLD HIM ABOUT THE RESTR.
